Terry Fox Run

Terry Fox Run (Sunday, September 14, 2025)

Terry Fox was 18 years old when he was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma, a form of bone cancer. In 1977, they were forced to amputate his right leg/knee. Even after losing his leg, Terry Fox made the decision to run across Canada to create awareness and raise money for cancer research.

Although Terry Fox never completed his run, he was able to raise $24.2 million for cancer research. He created a lasting impression that continues to inspire millions of people around the world.

"If I don't make it...the Marathon of Hope must continue" -Terry Fox

And it has to this day.

"I just wish people would realize that anything's possible if you try; dreams are made possible if you try. Even if I don't finish, we need others to continue. It's got to keep going without me"
