@ The Heritage Arts Centre in Quarry Park (166 Main Street, Stonewall)

Are you interested in gardening and producing a luscious garden that is self sustaining, produces everything you and your family needs and is better for the environment? This free workshop is the perfect informative gardening lesson.

The facilitator of this new workshop is Zach Loeks, expert in creating food forests, author of The Edible Ecosystem Solution, The Permaculture Market Garden and the Two Wheel Tractor Handbook. Zach travels the world providing communities with his knowledge on building and developing Food Forests.

Information on the Workshop:
"The workshop will cover the fundamentals of designing a cold-hardy food forest, including how to assess your yard's environment and choose suitable annuals and perennials for a successful food forest. I’ll also provide guidance on building a garden plot from scratch, along with practical tips, techniques, and tools for food forest gardening. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how to start and maintain their own food forest, tailored to their unique environment".

The first 20 participants to sign up will receive a free plant(s) to get their Food Forest started!

In the fall we will also have a continued workshop for anyone interested in canning and storing the food you grow. Stay tuned for updates!
