School Tours

Tours are interactive and students are asked to participate in activities. Tours are typically completed after a hike through the park where our Interpreters show students the different historical spots in the park and typically end by showing the students the best place to go fossil hunting! As a program addition, Interpreters will assist students in identifying the fossils they find, and the best part is they get to keep the fossils!

Open year round, Stonewall Quarry Park offers a variety of curriculum-based programs for various grade levels and disciplines.  Our unique programs use a variety of creative activities to encourage students to explore, discover, and appreciate the topics at hand. Basic programs vary from 1 ½ - 2 hours. There are a number of program additions if you have more time to spend with us. We do recommend Fossil Hunting with an Interpreter as that is usually one of the students favourite parts!

All programs feature indoor and outdoor components. Participants are asked to dress appropriately for the weather conditions. We DO NOT cancel programs. Alternate indoor activities will be provided to minimize outdoor time in the event of extreme weather.

During programs, teachers and adult supervisors are expected to remain with the students at all times. Proper supervision during free time is essential for creating a safe and fun outing.
