SPRING YARD WASTE REMINDER
Pursuant to the Town of Stonewall Waste Management By-Law, residents shall be allowed to place three (3) bags of yard waste at the curb for collection weekly. Spring yard waste pickup will begin on May 3, 2022.
The By-Law requirement for a Surcharge Sticker on the fourth and each additional bag of Yard Waste shall be waived for the period from May 3 - June 2, 2022 to allow for UNLIMITED bags of yard waste.
Yard waste MUST be placed in orange, clear, or paper bags. All other bags will be considered as garbage/household waste, and will NOT be picked up if the number of bags exceeds the allowable weekly amount of two (2) bags of garbage. Please do not use orange, clear, or paper bags for regular garbage/household waste.
Allowable yard waste consists of: grass clippings, leaves, and garden & flower bed vegetation ONLY.
Yard waste bags CANNOT CONTAIN any domestic waste, pet excrement, or household food waste.
Tree limbs/branches may be placed at the curb provided they are tied in bundles that are not more than one meter in length.
Please keep in mind the Town of Stonewall Burning By-law 06-18 prohibits the burning of yard waste (leaves, grass clippings, twigs, branches, garden and flower bed vegetation) within the limits of the Town of Stonewall.
