The Town of Stonewall partnered with Eco-West Canada and the Association of Manitoba Municipalities to develop a Climate Change Local Action Plan.  The Plan addresses local benefits and impacts with opportunities to make lasting change.

In 2026 the Town received funding through the Green Municipal Fund, a Fund financed by the Government of Canada and administered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities to complete a Climate Adaptation Study.  The Town of Stonewall has developed this Climate Adaptation Plan to better understand local climate risks, identify opportunities to strengthen community resilience, and guide future planning and investment. Climate adaptation has become an important focus of municipal, provincial, and federal governments, with increasing support and funding available to help communities prepare for the challenges ahead.
